Smoosh Technique Watercolor Background

I have a really simple Smoosh Technique to share with you using Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Paper. It is really very easy and any color can be used.

What I love about this technique is every card will be totally different. No two alike!

On this card I went with the blues and greens. These colors are lovely. Everytime I see this chair I think of a chair on a beach somewhere. Where is your beach?

Cutting & Scoring 

• Two of the card bases are 5 ½” by 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”
• The other card base is 4 ¼” by 11 scored at 5 ½”
• The first card the Whisper White piece is cut at 4″ by 5″
• All the Watercolor Paper are cut at 3″ by 4″
• The DSP on the last card is cut at 3 ½” by 4 ¾”
• The Tranquil Tide piece is cut at 3 1/8″ by 4 ¼”

Instructions

FIRST CARD

• Layered the Whisper White on top of the Basic Black cardstock
• Stamped sentiment in top corner
• Added the Watercolor paper on one side
• Die cut the flowers and punched out the leaves
• Attached the Metal Rimmed Pearls in the center of the flowers and randomly placed Black Rhinestone’s all over

SECOND CARD

• Ran the card base with the Quilt Impressions Embossing Folder
• Placed the DSP at a slight angle
• Cut a piece of Lemon Lime Ribbon and added at the bottom of the Watercolor paper
• Layered the Watercolor Paper on top of the Tranquil Tide piece and place that at an angle
• Die cut the chair and stamped the sentiment in the corner

THIRD CARD

• Ran the Whisper White piece through the Leaves Embossing Folder
• Attached the Watercolor paper at an angle
• Die cut the flower and punched out the  leaves
• Stamped the sentiment and punched it out with the coordinating punch, punched out a Fresh Fig piece and cut it in half and attached it to the sentiment. Took the Black Metallic Thread and placed it behind and popped it up with Dimensional’s
• Randomly added Black Rhinestone Jewels everywhere
