Smoosh Technique Watercolor Background

Smoosh Technique Watercolor Background

I have a really simple Smoosh Technique to share with you using Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Paper. It is really very easy and any color can be used.

Smoosh Technique Stampin' Up!

What I love about this technique is every card will be totally different. No two alike!

Smoosh Technique Stampin' Up!

On this card I went with the blues and greens. These colors are lovely. Everytime I see this chair I think of a chair on a beach somewhere. Where is your beach?

Cutting & Scoring For Card

  • Card base is Crumb Cake cut at 5 ½ by 8 ½ scored at 4 ¼
  • Whisper White for the front cut at 3 ¼ by 3 ¼
  • Crumb Cake square for the front cut at 3 by 3
  • Whisper White for the inside of the card cut at 4 by 5 ¼

Instructions For Card

  • I used the stitched looking flower and stamped the card base with it in the Craft Ink
  • Took the solid bakers twine and wrapped it around the card a few times and tied a bow
  • The Crumb Cake square I stamped the big shape and used the stripped pieces that fit into the star looking thing (don’t know quilting terms)
  • On a scrap piece of Whisper White I ran it through the big shot with the flower framelit I did use the multipurpose adhesive sheet on the scrap piece of Whisper White, so when I took the flower off the petals would be sticky allowing me to add the petals in the Lemon Lime and Tranquil Tide
  • Die cut a Lemon lime flower and a Tranquil tide flower so I would have the different color petals
  • Attached the Crumb Cake square to the Whisper White square
  • Popped the Whisper White square on dimensional’s
  • Placed a dimensional behind the flower
  • Added a Metal Rimmed Pearl

Cutting & Scoring For The Notepad

  • Base is Crumb Cake cut at 5 ½ by 8 ½ scored at 2 ¼ and 5 ½ (these measurements would depend on how big your notepad is)
  • Designer Series Paper cut at 2 by 3

Instructions For Notepad

  • With the Envelope Punch Board I rounded all the corners
  • Took the stitched looking flower and stamped all over with the White Craft Ink
  • Took my Notepad and the DSP and attached it to the Notepad with Tear & Tape
  • Took the Notepad and put Tear & Tape at the back of the Notepad and attached it into the middle of the cover
  • Punched out a ¾ inch circle with Lemon Lime Twist
  • Also Punched out a 1 inch circle with the Tranquil Tide
  • Used the 1/8 Handheld Punch and punched the two circle’s together in the middle
  • Attached it with a retired brad that I had
  • Also punched out a 1/8 circle on the Crumb Cake (the shorter flap)
  • Attached the closing mechanism
  • Wrapped the twine around the notepad holder

  • Piece of designer series paper cut at 2 ¼ by 4 ¼
  • Some extra scrap paper to stamp and die cut flowers and leaves

Instructions

  • I stamped off then stamped on for the sentiment the “sending you” is in memento and the “hugs” is in night of navy
  • Used fresh fig and stamped off and then stamped on the small cluster of tulip looking things randomly placed
  • On my separate piece of paper I stamped three of the flowers in the soft sky
  • Took my night of navy ink pad and squeezed it so that ink would gather in the lid
  • With my aqua painter I dropped the water/alcohol into the ink and made a liquid pool of ink and in the center of the flower I painted with the aqua painter
  • Die cut the leaves and with the lemon lime twist I did the same, squeezing the lid to get in into it and with the aqua painter I colored the leaves
  • I added randomly the glitter enamel shapes and only because I had unwanted ink there.
  • One of the flowers I glued down and two of them I popped them on dimensional’s
  • I then popped the white piece on dimensional’s and added it to my card front
  • Stamped a sentiment on the inside
