Happy Wednesday! I have a super cute project to share with you today. I am calling it a “Book Style Box”
This type of box has been around for some time. Today I am making this box with some of my favorite products from the new Occasions Catalog

Cutting & Scoring
- Needlepoint Nook DSP – Lid – 4 ⅛” x 5 ¼”
- score all four sides at 1 ½”
- Balmy Blue – Box Base – 4″ x 7 9/16″
- with the 7 9/16″ along the top of the trimmer score at 1 1/16″, 3 ¼”, 4 5/16″ & 6 ½”
- (2 pcs) Pockets – 2 ½” x 5 ¾”
- with the 2 ½” along the top of the trimmer score at ½”
- with the 5 ¾” along the top of the trimmer score at 2 ⅛”, 2 ⅝”, 4 ¾” & 5 ¼”
- (2pcs) DSP – 1 ¾” x 2″ – optional
Instructions
- For the base of the box 4″ x 7 9/16″ follow all the score lines
- Fold & burnish score lines
- Round all the corners with the Detailed Trio Punch
- The lid of the box which you will do with any type of Designer Series Paper 4 ⅛” x 5 ¼” again follow score line instructions above
- Take your paper snips and cut up all the score lines stopping at the horizontal score line
- Miter all the corners
- Cut all the corner flaps in half, they don’t need to be that long
- Fold and burnish all the score lines
- Add Multipurpose Glue on all the flaps and seal the lid
- For the pockets follow the score lines indicated above
- Cut up on all the score lines stopping at the horizontal score line
- Miter the tabs
- Cut small corner square away. Not needed
- There is a ¼” score down one side miter that end
- Add adhesive to the ¼” flap and form box
- Place adhesive on the bottom
- Repeat with the other pocket
- Again its optional if you wanna add the two DSP 1 ¾” x 2″ to the pockets
- Place glue on the back of the pocket an attach it to the base of the box
- Repeat with the other pocket
- Add lid
