#TGIFC117 Summertime Blues Challenge – Stamp with Shar

Good Morning Everyone,

Happy Tuesday! Today I am playing along with the #TGIFC117 and the challenge is Summertime Blues. Wait what! Summertime Blues? For me summertime blue I think of good music, blue skies, sunshine, pool parties, flowers, bees and insects.

The card I created has all that. Pool party card stock flowers, bees and stars. Who doesn’t love the summertime nights?

I couldn’t decide which one I preferred, the lots of labels or the square, so I did one of each.

Cutting and Scoring

• Card base is pool party and I cut that at 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 and scored it at 1 and 4 1/4
• Basic Black piece is cut at 2 1/8 by 5 1/2
• The whisper white piece is cut at 2 1/2 by 4

Instructions

• I first folded the card stock in half at 4 1/4
• Ran it through the big shot with the embossing folder oh my stars but took the top clear plate and lined it up with the 1″ score mark so the stars wouldn’t emboss on the 1″ piece
• Folded the 1 ” piece back
• I cut the basic black piece at 1″ and the larger piece I placed on the inside of the card edge
• The other piece I added to that one inch flap leaving a black border sticking out
• Then I glued the one inch flap down
• On the white card stock I randomly stamped flowers starting with the solid image first in pool party ink and the overlay in island indigo using lovely friends stamp set
• Attached the two pieces to the front and stamped a bee from garden in bloom above and below on the one inch strip
• Added some glitter enamel dots randomly, actually I had boo, boos there so I had to cover them up and it all worked out. Ha, ha, ha
