Kylie’s International Blog Hop – Teachers Gift

By Sharleen

15 Aug

Hello Stampers and Crafters

If this is your first time visiting my blog, hello and welcome. This is my first time taking part in Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights Hop. For this month’s Kylie’s International Blog Highlights Hop the theme is “Teachers Gifts”

I decided to do a coffee mug and fill it with wrapped hershey’s nuggets and add a gift card to Starbucks!

Cutting and Scoring

  • Used early espresso card stock and its cut at 5 ½ by 8
  • With the 5 ½ along the top of the scoring board you will score it at 1 and 3 5/8
  • The with the 8 along the top of of the score board you will score at 1 ¼, 2 ½, 3 ¾, 5, 6 ¼, 7 ½
  • 6 Pieces of DSP measuring 1 by 2

Instructions

  • Cut the cardstock to the length you need
  • Start scoring all the score lines
  • Enforce all the score lines with a bone folder to get a nice crisp clean edge
  • The piece that is bigger you will cut the corner off

  • Also cut the bottom off

  • On the bottom with the smaller squares you will use your envelope punch board to punch out notches along all the score lines

  • Once you notched out all the way along. You are gonna cut up the notches

  • Use tear and tape and add tear and tape on the top of the larger squares and below the score line and also the small tab front and back of the tab

  • Remove backing and fold down the large square, not all the way as the small tab has to slot ingo the folded down piece

  • Flip the mug upside down and start gluing the tabs down

  • Use a 2″ circle punch and punch out two circles, one for the inside and one for the outside

  • Take the 1 ¼” circle punch and punch out the circle, then take the 2″ circle punch and punch around the 1 ¼” circle

  • Make two score lines, this is your handle
  • Place the DSP all around your mug and then attatch the handle
  • Put glue between the two score lines, once it is all dry put some glue on both sides and close the handle
  • Wrap the candy and place in bag and tie a bow and add it inside the mug
