Cutting & Scoring

PURSE

  • Whisper White cut at 6″ by 6″
  • You will score at 1 ¼” and 4 ¾” rotate and score at 2 ½” and 3 ½”
  • ½” by 3 ½” strips (you need 2)
  • Handles cut at ½” by 6″

CARD

  • Card base cut at 5 ½” by 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”
  • Bermuda Bay cut at 4″ by 5 ¼”
  • Whisper White cut at 4″ by 5 ¼”

Instructions

PURSE

  • I randomly stamped the flowers all over the 6″ by 6″ Whisper White piece, figured out where i was gonna place the punched out circle and took the circle and put it on the paper before stamping the flower
  • Score all the score lines
  • On the 1 ¼” side you are gonna fold above and below the score lines like this

  • Repeat on the opposite side too

  • I did those score lines just using my fingers
  • Once you have done that on both sides you are gonna glue all four corners
  • You are gonna curl the handles using your Bone Folder I did score all the handles at ¾” and attach it to the purse
  • The strips of ½” by 3 ½” will go on the brim of the purse covering the handles
  • Colored in my flower and punched out a Bermuda Bay circle and attached it where I placed the smaller circle attached the colored circle on top of the Bermuda Bay

CARD

  • Folded the card base in half
  • Used the Bermuda Bay and punched out the circles I knew I was covering it so I didn’t need additional cardstock
  • I layered the Whisper White and Bermuda Bay on top of each other before placing it at an angle to cut the cardstock knowing that they would line up perfectly once shifted
  • Stamped the flowers randomly on the Whisper White piece, placed the circle on top of the Whisper White so when I removed it the circle was also stamped with flowers
  • Attached the Bermuda Bay to the card
  • Attached the Whisper White on top of the Bermuda Bay
  • Placed the Bermuda Bay circle where the Whisper White circle was, colored in the flowers and attached it to the Bermuda Bay Circle
  • The little edge piece I cut away I used to stamp and punch out the sentiment
  • Place the Silver Metallic Thread behind it and popped it up with a Dimensional

Gift Bag Stampin' Up Merry Music

How cute is this handbag? Adorable! I did a whole video on how to create this handbag only to realize it only recorded one minute and everything else…..gone!

I wanted to cry. I did a class on Thursday night. My first I might add. So I am a bit behind now.

Gift Bag Stampin' Up

Cutting & Scoring

  • Merry Music 12 by 12
  • Two pieces of Basic Black for the handles cut at ½” by 10″ scored at ¾” on each end

Instructions

  • With the Envelope Punch Board you are gonna line the paper up at 2 ¾” and punch and score repeating that all the way round, when you score you will notice the paper runs off the board and you can’t score any more. Not a big deal as when you flip the paper and repeat the same process you will notice the lines do line up.
  • After you flip the paper and repeat the process all the way round punching and scoring at 2 ¾”
  • You are gonna score all four corners like this

Gift Bag Stampin' Up

  • Take the Simply Scored Scoring board and place your paper into the board. At 6″ inch mark you will score down to where the two lines meet in the middle of the V
  • Pick which side of paper you want on the outside
  • The paper pattern you pick for the outside, you are gonna fold in opposite corners down and glue them. The pattern you want must be underneath
  • Gift Bag Stampin' Up
  • You are gonna take your Bone Folder and enforce all the score lines
  • Take Tear n Tape and the opposite corners the ones that you didn’t glue down add Tear n Tape

Gift Bag Stampin' Up

  • Repeat on the opposite side with the Tear n Tape
  • Turn paper over and add Tear n Tape. Again on the corners that was not glued down

Gift Bag Stampin' Up

  • If you notice in the two pictures above the inverted L’s are different that’s cause on one side of the paper and the other side, and again the Tear n Tape is on the sides that doesn’t have the two glued down corners.
  • Remove the backing and fold in all the pieces that you scored down at the 6″ mark and attach all the way round. Should look like this. See below

Gift Bag Stampin' Up

  • Take the remainder of the tape off on the inside and attach it to the wall of the box
  • Place the box on the Simply Scored Scoring Board and make sure its butted up to the base
  • Gift Bag Stampin' Up
  • Score at like 5 ¼” mark across
  • Repeat on the other side too
  • Fold in the score lines and attach with glue so only a small piece is left.

Gift Bag Stampin' Up

  • I used Velcro for the closure
  • Stamped the sentiment and die cut it with the Layering Circle Framelits
  • Die cut the Scalloped Circle in Basic Black and attached to the bag
  • Tied a bow around one of the handles and added Tissue Paper

What I love about this project is if you change the paper you get a whole different look. It’s just stunning and I hope you will give this project a try.
